As an admin, the News module allows you to add, view, and manage all alumni news in one place. Here’s an overview of what you can do on the News page:
Track Total Views: See how many times your news articles have been viewed.
Create News: Add new articles by clicking the "Create News" button.
Active News List: View all currently active news in a table format. The table displays:
News Name: The title of each news article.
Release Date: The date the news was published.
Action Buttons: Options to view, edit, or delete news articles.
Archived News Tab: Contains all news that has been archived. You can archive any news item by selecting it and clicking the “Archive” button.
Draft News Section: Displays news items in draft mode. Any news marked as disabled (not live) will appear in this section until enabled.
Additional Options: Archive, clone, or delete news items easily by simply selecting the news.
Adding or Creating News
Step 1: Click Create News
This will open the News Article page.
Step 2: Fill in the following fields:
News Heading: Enter the title of your news article. This will appear as the headline.
Content Section: Add your news content here. The built-in text editor allows you to format text, add images, videos, or other media to make your news engaging.
Enable or Disable News:
Disabled: If you leave this option unticked, the news is saved as a draft and will appear in the Drafts section.
Enabled: Ticking this option makes the news live and visible to alumni.
Release Date: Choose the date when the news will be published or made live. You can select a future date if needed.
Release Time: Set the exact time the news will go live.
Feature Image: Upload a highlight image for the news. This image will appear alongside the news item on your alumni site.
Step 3: Save the News
Click Save to save your work and stay on the same page.
Click Save + Exit to save the news and return to the main News page.
Editing a News Article
Step 1: From the News list, locate the news you want to edit and click the Edit icon under the Action column.
Step 2: Make Changes
Update the headline, content, release date, time, or any other details as needed.
Step 3: Save Changes
Click Save to apply changes and stay on the same page.
Click Save + Exit to save your changes and return to the News page.
Cloning a News Article
Cloning allows you to quickly duplicate an existing news article. This is useful if you want to reuse content or create a similar article with slight modifications.
Step 1: Select the News to Clone
From the News page, select the checkbox next to the news you want to clone and click the Clone button.
Step 2: Edit the Cloned News
The system will duplicate the news and open the edit screen. Update the title, content, or any other details as needed.
Step 3: Save the Cloned News
Click Save to apply changes and stay on the same page.
Click Save + Exit to save your changes and return to the News page.
