Magazines, Yearbooks & Publications

Overview

The Magazine / Yearbook module allows schools, universities, and institutions to digitally publish magazines, yearbooks, and special publications for alumni. Uploaded PDFs are automatically converted into an interactive flipbook experience, making it easy for alumni to browse, relive memories, and stay connected.

Schools can fully customise this module — including renaming it to “Yearbooks”, “Reports”, etc. organising publications into categories, and scheduling future releases.

Step 1: Accessing the Magazine Module

  1. Log in to Alumnly as an Administrator.
  2. From the admin menu, navigate to Magazines.

This page displays all published, draft, and scheduled magazines/yearbooks.

Step 2: Customising the Module Name (Optional)

You can rename the Magazines module to better suit your school’s needs.

  1. On the Magazines page, click Setup.
  2. Update the display name (e.g. Yearbooks).

📌 Note:

  • Alumni will see the updated name (e.g. Yearbooks).
  • For administrators, the module will still appear as Magazines for consistency.

Click Save to apply your changes.

Step 3: Adding a New Magazine / Yearbook

To publish a new magazine or yearbook:

  1. Click Add Magazine.
  2. On the Add Magazine page, complete the following fields:

📌 Tip:
Categories appear as tabs on the alumni site, making it easy for alumni to browse publications by theme or year.

  1. Click Save or Save + Exit to publish or schedule the magazine.

Step 4: How Alumni View Magazines / Yearbooks

Once published, magazines appear on the alumni site as interactive flipbooks.

  • Categories created by the school are displayed as tabs (e.g. Sports, Leadership, Technology).
  • Alumni can open, flip through, and enjoy each magazine seamlessly on desktop or mobile devices.

This creates a modern, engaging way to preserve school memories and showcase publications.
